Daily 5 is in full swing in 1st grade and my students are loving it!!!!! It is so rewarding as a teacher to observe my students taking ownership of their learning! Each day, students read with me in a small reading group and then make a choice whether they would like to read to self, read with a buddy, work on words, work on writing, or listen to a book. There is a lot going on during our LA block but it works!!! We are very busy but most importantly we are learning and becoming better readers and writers. Here is a sneak peek at my first graders working hard during Daily 5!!!!!
