3D Shapes

In math we have been learning about three-dimensional shape. We have discussed the different characteristics of each 3-D shape and sorted common every day objects into 3-D shape categories. Today’s lesson was extra tasty! Student had the opportunity to actually eat 3-D shaped food. Did you know a caramel is shaped like a cube, a bugle chip is shaped like a cone, a Tootsie Roll is shaped like a cylinder, a wafer cookie is shaped like a rectangle or prism, and a gumball is shaped like a sphere? Connecting a math lesson to students’ every day lives is always a plus!
