Daily 5

We had some extra time for Daily 5 this morning. Students enjoyed reading to self, reading with a buddy, working on words, and listening to books on Epic! I love it when my students are excited about reading and engaged in learning!!

Fractions

We had a tasty lesson in math today as we reviewed halves and fourths using graham crackers. My kiddos also colored and labeled pizza fractions.

Bossy "AR"

These little pirates are learning all about the bossy “AR” this week in spelling and phonics! They are are a bunch of sm”AR”ty pants!!!!!

We Are “ANT”sy for 2nd Grade!

Final door decoration of the year! The kids had fun telling me what they are looking forward to next year in 2nd grade.

What Goes Up.... Must Come Down!!!

First grade did a little investigating this week as we tested the pull of gravity on different objects.

Whale Research

After reading Amazing Whales, my students did some research on their favorite whale from the text. We learned many new facts and even google searched whale sounds and listened to the different noises whales make as they communicate with one another and sing.

Biography Timeline

I am so proud of the work that my students have turned in the past couple of weeks. They completed a timeline graphic organizer about themselves and wrote an autobiography highlighting important milestones in their lives. They also researched a famous person from the past and created a biography timeline using a non-fiction text selected from the Epic library app on the iPads.
