Parts of a Plant

We are moving right along this week in science and have been talking about the parts of a plant.  My students learned a fun little song about the parts of a plant to the tune of Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes.  Each student made a flower craft and labeled the parts.  We also set up an experiment so we could observe the "STEM" in action.  We now know that the stem's job is to suck up the water and nutrients from the roots.  It is like a straw!  We observed that the dyed water traveled through up stem of the flower and changed the color of the petals.  AMAZING!!!!!
