Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!!!!

Today was the big day and boy we were busy!  My kiddos dressed in red and blue today and we read One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish by Dr. Seuss.  Our Dr. Seuss activities for the day went perfectly with our math curriculum.  We did lots of graphing and measuring.  We sorted and graphed rainbow goldfish crackers (and yes we ate them when we were finished... YUM).  Students also traced their hands to make their very own fish.  They made estimations about how many cubes, marbles, and fish it would take to measure how long their hands were.  Finally, each student used goldfish to measure a variety of school supplies like scissors, notebooks, and glue sticks.  Have I mentioned before how much I love my job!  Hands on learning is the BEST!!!!!

Check out Ellie's Dr. Seuss Bow=)

Teagin did a great job sorting and graphing his goldfish crackers.

We read Cat in the Hat and wrote examples of cause and effect on our hats!
